Quand on est con, on est con!

... You don't need to go very far away, to Iran or to Pakistan, to take pictures which can have dangerous consequences. Right at the corner it can be really dangerous, here in Vienna! This is what happened today, a lovely rainy day by the way, as I went with 2 friends to a kind of alternative Saturday party to cast a glance. We saw a chicken house! Funny, in the middle of Vienna! Some people were preparing a big soup like in Asterix when Panoramix prepares his magic potion. So I took some pictures. It was THE enormous mistake! As we were leaving and walking on the street, a guy came behind and pushed me and then said: "are you provoking? Why are you provoking?" in English with his Austrian accent. Hmmm... Am I? It seems he was not happy with the pictures I took, which is clear, contain very important information about the activities of this small group. Well... after a surrealistic conversation and his threatening words, we went away. Isn't it a bit scary? You go to places where they say "everyone is welcome, come in and have a look" and at the end, you get threatened. Let's move on and close the topic. As Brassens said: "Quand on est con, on est con!"

Der Weg zum Wein

Wer sich wundert, wo der österreichische Wein herkommt, ist in Gumpoldskirchen mehr als Willkommen! Gumpoldskirchen liegt mitten in einer Weingegend südlich von Wien. Da gibt es überall rund herum Weinberge und Ruhe, Heuhaufen und süße Weintrauben, Weingedichte und schöne Gärten... oder Weingärten und schöne Gedichte? Allerdings ist dieses Dorf berauschend! In die Weinberge bin i kuaz spoazier' 'gangn: Weintrauben sind heuer ganz süß und schmackhaft. Heißt das "ein gutes Jahr" für den Wein? Bei nächster Gelegenheit ist eine Verkostung mehr als notwendig... vielleicht doch in diesem netten gemütlichen Weingut "Melker Stift" gleich beim oberen Parkplatz? Sonstn, und des is goar kan Schmäh, ist der Wein aus diesem Weingut auch in Wien in da Freyung, im Melker Stiftskeller zu finden! Is'a ganz schön, gö?

Auf den Spuren der Wiener Alternativszene

Im Vordergrund der Alternativszene Wiens steht das Museumsquartier. Nächsten September organisieren sie die Fashion Week. Bereits jetzt bereiten sie das Event vor, und die Plakate sind überall in der Stadt zu sehen. Auch mit der Viennale kommt die Alternativszene voran!... Bin schon gespannt, was sich aus dem Filmwettbewerb ergibt. Das Motto der heurigen Viennale ist "ein Tag mehr Viennale, ein Tag weniger Krise" :) voll krass!

Une tarte passe-partout

Cette tarte aux abricots meringuée avec crème pâtissière se joint harmoniquement à un bon petit-déjeuner. Après l'avoir testée et fait tester, le goût est bien, intéressant, les abricots sont bons et fondent sur les papilles avec la meringue pour adoucir l'acidité naturelle de ce fruit d'été. La crème pâtissière a une belle consistance et a bon goût, n'est pas trop sucrée. Cependant la prochaine fois une gousse de vanille est vraiment à mettre dans le lait lors de la préparation (j'avais utilisé cette fois un sachet de sucre vanillé mélangé aux jaunes d'oeuf). Peut-être qu'un peu de poudre d'amande pourrait étendre encore le spectre du goût... mais je préfère l'avis de My la spécialiste sur ce sujet!

Atelier Pâtisserie

Ce samedi après-midi, c'était atelier pâtisserie au petit château. Au programme, premier test de nouvelles recettes assez ambitieuses: tarte aux abricots avec crème pâtissière meringuée et choux à la crème. Le résultat est là, pas encore consommé, a l'air intéressant, bien que la prochaine fois je mettrai les choux entre des cuillères, comme la recette le recommande, pour éviter qu'ils soient trop larges!... Dégustation ce week-end.
